PERSONAL.

The members of the First Wellington Military Service Board left by the afternoon train yesterday, for Hawera, where appeals will be heard on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. E. A. O'Donnell, of New Plymoulh, has received advice that her son, Private J, J. O'Donnell, who left with the 17th Reinforcements, was wounded on July 31. Mr. W. Jones, of Waitara, has received word that his son Private Jack Joirs, was wounded on August 2. His wounds are not serious. Mr. W. Hooker, of Vbgeitown, has received cable news to tho effect that his son, Gunner H. D. Hooker, was wounded and gassed on July 31, and ha 3' been admitted to hospital. . Mrs. M. Holmes, Bell Block, has received advice that her youngest son, Private Harry Victor Holmes, who left with, the 19th Reinforcements, was killed in action on July 31.

The passing of Sergt. James Smith, of the 12th Reinforcements, who was killed in action on July 31, was very feelingly referred to by the master, Mr A. H. Halcombe, during the adjournment of the Hunt Club's meet on Thursday. The late Sergt. Smith was i prominent active mejnber of the North Tai'anaki Hunt, and was chairman of tho committee for several years. A vote" of: condolence and sympathy from the Hunt Club is to be sent to Sergeant Smith's widow at Takapuna, Auckland.

Wourded, admitted to hospital: R. 0. Weston (Mrs. T. A. Weston, Kaimata, motlier), L. Ward (ff. Ward, Inglowood, father), H. D. George (Mrs. E., George, Waitara, nwthjr), G. P. Court (F. W. Court, Stratford, father). Dangerously ill: R. C. Carroll (Midhirst). Removed from dangerously ill list: N. R. Leighton (New Plymouth). Seriously ill: W. P. Gilligan (Taranaki). Still seriously ill: J. H. Seeman (New Plymouth). Not severe eases: C. C. T. Davies (Taranaki), C. E. Kcnnard (New iPlymouth).
