ON THE SEA.
LOSS OF A DESTROYER. London, Aug. 14. The Admiralty reports that a British destroyer was mined and sunk in the North Sea. The captain, two officers, and 43 men were saved.
AUSTRALIAN* STEAMER MISSING. Received Aug. 10, 12.30 a.m. Melbourne, Aug. 15. The Navy Office reports that the Burns Pbilp steamer Matunga, en route from Sydney to Rabaul, is seven days overdue, and is feared to be lost as the result o£ an internal explosion.
