REDUCING MILITARY AGE.
PROTESTS IN VARIOUS CENTRES. By Telegraph—Press Association Invercargill. Aug. 11. At 11 special meeting of the executive of tlie Second Division Ldague, representing 0000 members ill Southland, it was resolved to emplintieally protest against tin; Government's intention to rcdueo the military age for conscription to 19 years. Dunedin, Aug. 11. A mass 'meeting of citizens, the 'Mayor presiding, under the auspices of the National Welfare Association, will be held on Monday night to protest against the lowering of the age for recruits to 19. Auckland,, Aug. 11. The executive of the Auckland Second Divi'ion League passed a resolution emphatically protesting against any attempt being made to lower the age limit for military service, and will urge the central executive to use every effort to prevent this being done.
