Kerensky's appeals to the people for help have been disregarded, and the different parties are unable to reach an agreement. The Moscow conference has still not been arranged. The disaffection and flight of troops on the south-west front continues.

Northward of Husiatylv i|hi! enemy forced us back across the Hfc. Ekewhere our losses were great. They also forced our retirement between the Dnekter and the Pruth, eastward of tiercment.
HINDENBURC'S PROMISE.
TO FINISH RUSSIA IX TWO MONTHS. Amsterdam, Aug. 1. Hindenburg, at the out'ret of the German offensive on the Eastern front, promised the Kaiser to put Russia out of action in two months. ATTEMPT TO WRECK MR. ROOT'S TRAIN'. Tokio, Aug. 1. Travellers from Russia report a futile attempt to wreck Senator Root's train on the Siberian line. Bridges were burned and blazing cars pushed alongfide the train.
