FOR JULY. (Recorded at Pukekura Park Meteorological Station, altitude 100 feet; Mr. W. W. Smith observer.)

With tho exception of two fine days —the 13th and 24th—the weather was more or less stormy and extremely -wet. High gales were experienced on the ht. li.'th, 27th, and 29th. Fresh to gale westerly winds were recorded on 14 days. Remarkable rain was recorded on flth, I7th, 19th, and 21st. Thunder storsns occurred on the Ist, 4th, fith, <tf.h, 17th, and 21st. Snow fell on Egmont. on the 2nd. fith. 7th, 11th. 12th, 16th, 20th, fi")th, and 27th. Ilail fell on the lowlands on 2(ith and 2!)lh (heavy). A plight earthquake was noted on the 10th at 9 p.m. Half a degree of frost was registered on the 12th and 13th, while the 11th and 12th were the coldest nights jf the month.
