In response to enquiries by the Govcrnment as to whether they want further stocks of Australian wheat, the Dunedin millers replied that owing to the importation of Australian flour into the Xortli Island, business has declined, so they cannot accept, any more wheat, Meanwhile, the millers also say thev are not prepared to pay the price asked by the Government, as they cannot produce (lour at a loss. The millers have communicated with the Government with the object of having the import duty on Australian flour increased, so as to stop importation while the Government is distributing the wheat purchased by the Minister.
