HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
SPECIAL MEETING. A special meeting of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday to consder staff salaries and other urgent matters. Present: Mr. J. R. ITill (acting chairman), Mrs. E. Dockrill, Messrs E. Maxwell, E, Gilmour, M. J. Mcßeyuolds, D. McAllum, J Brown, A. H." Halcombe, G. V. Tate, and D. H. McDonald. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. C. Lcpper (chairman), owng to illness. It was decided to adopt a scale of salaries as drafted by the House Committee, to take effect from the beginning of last month.
On the motion of Mr. Mcßeynolds, seconded by Mr. Gilmour, it was resolved to forward copies of plans and specifications for the renovation of the isolation waTd, together with Br. Walker's recommendations, also list of tenders to the Inspector General of Hospitals, with a request that they be approved of by the Department is the need is a very urgent one.
