A CORRECTION.
■ To the Editor. Sir,—ln your local news\of to-day's issue, you 'state that I have grown a very heavy crop of Jersey Queen mangolds. This statement is misleading and may cause someone, who would not otherwise do so, to grow what class of mangolds, hence this letter. On November 1 I drilled in Jersey Queen, but only an odd plant hero and there came up. so I worked up the ground again, and drilled in Long Red, and they also were a long time in showing, but, eventually, they did come through rather thinly. However, by carefully hoeing, singling, and keeping' free from weeds they grew into a very heavy crop. I have just finished stacking tiiem to-day, but I do not think thero are quite 75 tons to the acre. There are enough to keep my +0 cows going for three months, that is. off loss than one and Ov half acres. The seed was "Carton's," supplied by Newton King, and the manure a' mixture of siiper and blood and bone.—l am, etc., D. BLACKSTOCK. Robson road, Stratford, July 25, 1017.
