LAND FOR SOLDIERS.
SEVEN SECTIONS NEAR KAPONGA. At the Taranaki Land Board meeting yesterday the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr. Bullard) submitted for consideration a scheme of the subdivision with areas and prices, of the latest block purchased by the Cro\vn in Taranaki, near Kaponga, from Messrs Parkes Bros, for soldier settlement.
The estate, which is being named the Parkes Settlement, will consist of seven 'lots of from 50 to 5!) acres each, and will be available for cash purchase or purchase under deferred paymhents, or for selection under lease with right of purchase. It is situated on the OpunakcEltham and 'Palmer roads, about a mile from Kaponga, and will, no doubt, appeal to the soldier selector, who requires a small area of good land for dairying. The block will be on the market at the end of next month. Tho areas are as follows: Section IS, block XI, Kaupokonui District, SOacres. Section 2S, block XI, Kaupokonui District, 53acres lrd 39p. Section 3 S, block XI, Kaupokonui district, 53acres 2rd. lp. Section 4S, block XI, Kaupokonui District, o'Jacrcs 3rd 39p. Section 5 S, block XI, Kaupokonui District, 59acres 3rd 33p. Section (Is, block XI, Kaupokonui District, SOaeres 3rd 3Sp. Section 7S, block XI, Kaupokonui District, 59 acres 3rd 3Sp. House and sheds on section 1 S valued at £63, and house and sheds on section 0 S valued at £175, to be paid for separately in cash, or in 10 years in the case of section 0 S, or in 7 years in the case of section 1 S (interest and sinking fund by half-yearly instalments). t j
