WHY PRINCE LVOFF RESIGNED
STEIMSJEXT MEASURES DEMANDED. Reuter Service. Received July 23, 8.55 pjn. Petrogrod, July 22. iPrinco Lvoff (ex-Premier) not only disagreed with liis late colleagues on the question of land reform, but opposed the immediate proclamation of a republic, declaring that a Constituent Assembly is the proper body. The general staff on the Roumanian front telegraphed demanding the most stringent measures, including an armed force against the rebels.
KEREXSKY TAKES HO RISK. Reuter Service. Petrograd, July 21. The anarchists have abandoned their last citadel in Admiral Durnovo's villa. Most of the workmen have resumed work. M. Kerensky is arresting all who are guilty of having relations with many. Already several notorious 1. malists have 'been arrested. The whereabouts of Lenin is unknown. The mutinous troops have been disbanded and further troops have arrived from the front. Prince Lvoff's resignation followed stormy Oaibinet meetings. M. Kerensky, who lutd just returned from tiie front, criticised the Minister's military handling of the recent situation and declared that they should have used the fullest powers to suppress the mutiny.
