RUSSIAN RETREAT CONTINUOUS.
THE SOLDIERS DISREGARD ORDERS. Aus. and N.Z. OaSle Assoc. and Renter. Received July 23, 10.40 p.m. London, July 22. A wireless Russian official message states: There is intense artillerying southwards of Pvinsk. The continues to attack westward of Tarnopol. Our troops continue to retreat beyond the tSereth. The enemy occupied Zagorbelia, which is a suburb of Tarnopol, despite our superiority in numbers. The retreat has been almost uninterrupted, owing to the instahilty of the troops, their"disregard of orders, and the propaganda of the Maximalists. The enemy compelled us to evacuate Balino and retire to the right bank of the Lomnitza.
KERENSKY AT THE FRONT. DEALING WITH THE REBELS. Received July 23, 9.10 p.m. Petrograd, July 22. It. Kerensky went to the front to prevent a repetition of last week's disaster. The executive is disarming and disbanding all the regiments which refused to fight. The general situation is quiet, .but in several districts the rebels fired at the executive of the army, killing several Cossacks.
REBELS PILLAGE A TOWN. TROOPS SENT TO QUELL RISING. Received July 24, 1.45 a.m. Petrograd, July 23. Serious disorders ha.ve broken out at Nijni-Novgorod, bands of soldiers having taken oommand of the town. The local Council of Delegates fled, and the rebels have pillaged the city.
