BOOKMAKERS HEAVILY FINED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Fines totalling £375 were imposed in the police court to-day on two bookmakers, for betting in hotels. Gilbert Walker, charged on three counts, was fined £IOO on one and £SO each on the others. John Weston, also charged on three eounts, was fined £IOO and £75, one charge being dismissed.
