The native owners were given permission unuer legislation passed two vearß ago to sell some of their land in order to get money to farm the,remainder, but it has since been found that if the ands are. sold they will rank a* Crown ands and 25 per cent, ol the proceeds will have to be paid to the New isymouth Harbor Board. The old law Providing for this payment was overlooked when the legislation of 1915 was beau? passed, and it is now blocking sales.
