BOROUGH COUNCIL MATTERS, The chairman stated that at last meeting of the Board the town members were appointed a deputation to wait on the Borough Council re the Hendrie Street storm water and the Waiwaka Terrace footpath. The chairman said he had interviewed the Mayor, who stated it would be of no use to send a deputation, as the Council had already come to a decision on the matter of the Hendrie Street storm water, and that nothing would be done at Waiwaka Terrace until the work was done on the permanent level, which he assured the chairman would be done next year. The chairman stated that accordingly an agreement was being drawn up with the Borough Council regarding Hendrie Street drainage. A letter was received from the town clerk stating that the Council had merely agTeed to consider the application re Waiwaka Terrace at a future date, and had not committed itself in any way to undertake the work.
