The Morning Post's Petrograd correspondent states that General KomilofT's cavalry continues to push forward with irresistible dash, and that the infantry is moving bv forced marches on Lemberj* The remnants of the enemy opposed to KomilofT are fleeing panicstricken. The opportunity is ideal for cavalry, wherein Russia is particularly strong.
The Austrian corps at Brzezany was also beaten to rags, and the remnants have been entirely withdrawn. German divisions have hastily replaced the Austrian on the other fronts, who are temporarily holding the Russian attack on this sector, though their losses are enormous. Between July 1 and 7 in the Brzezany sector 30,000 Germans were killed or wounded, apart from 18,000 taken prisoner. General KomilofT's sweeping successes southward have already turned the Brze/any defences. The Germans are redined to attacking in solid formation, hence their heavy losses.

The Russians are pursuing the enemy's right wing, which is retiring towards the Carpathians en route to Lemberg and the Stvr. The opinion is expressed that one Austrian corps lost its entire artillery. ARTILLERY WORK IX CARPATHIANS. London, July 13. The fourth day of General Korniloff's progress on the Dolina-Stryr road was ]r^marked, because ho was forced to fight a pitched battle directly l>e crossed the Lomnica. The battle resulted in the capture of Kalusz. General KornilofT's left wing was slower in advancing owing to the forests and hilly country. The victory at Haliez was the more significant because it was defended by German divisions. Korniloff's "Eagles," as the battalions are called, aro now advancing on a front of forty miles. A wireless German official report states: An English attack near Lombartzyde broke down. We occupied and held against counter-attacks positions in the trenches southward of Boisson Lains, north of Rhejma, and frustrated an attempted thrflst south-west of Somme <Py. We downed 21 airmen. Lively fighting continues near Dvinsk and SThorgon, and artillerving on the Brzezany sector. Bain is restricting the fighting" Boutli of the Dneister. BRUSILOFF CONVERTS THE WORKERS' COUNCIL. WILL 'NOT ALUOW COUNTERREVOLUTION. Received July 15, 5.15 p.m. Amsterdam, July 14. The All Russia Supply Committee is introducing meat tickets in all the towns and villages, also rationing and clothing material. The Petrograd Workmen and Soldiers' Council has been converted to the Ministerial policy. At the conference of M. Molileft' with General Brusiloff and other generals, M. Kerghky declared that the army was entitled to demand more assistance from- the organisations in the rear.
A member of the Council, addressing General BrusilofT, said: "Your presence has brought us solidarity, <but 89 per cent, of the officers at headquarters obstruct work and create huge counterrevolutionary manifestations."
General BrusilofT replied: "I have taken the oath to serve democracy. There cannot bo a revolution. I would not allow it. All responsible positions are now filled by officers accepting the revolution's views. Everyne must concentrate to serve the country." . ENEMY FORCES SUNDERED. Washington, July 18. The Russian Embassy has received a telegram from Petrograd announcing that General Kornilofl's Galician offensive lias cut the enemy's forceß under Generals Kirbach and Bothmer in two, and that both axe now precipitously retreating. ONE DAY'S CAPTURES. Received July 15, 5.16 p.m. London, July 14. A wireless Russian official report states: During Wednesday's- battles we captured ten officers, 850 men (mostly Germans), five heavy guns, tod ten ma-chine-guns.
