EXPLOSION AT POWER STATION.
FOUR MENi SCALDED. By Telegraph.—Presi Association. Auckland, Last Night. • An accident occurred at the v.itv power station at the King's wharf this evening, when four men—Alexander Wyllic (city engineer), William Purceil (station superintendent). 'Henry 'Pearson (shift engineer), and William Albert Oram (greaser)—were severely burned about the face and body. An explosion occurred in the crank chamber of the engine, Mowing off the cover of the lubricating cup. The oil shot out, and, spreading fanwise, caught all four men. Oram and Pearson were removed to the hospital. -
