ANITA STEWART IN "TEE GffilL PHIMPIPA" TO-NIGHT. The attraction at Everybody's tonight is an adaptation of Robert Chambers' novel, "The Girl Philippa." The play is certainly a great success. Founded upon a powerful story and committed to the film by clever craftsmen, it is fit to be reckoned among the best productions that have recently appeared. In the leading role is the gentle and seductive Anita Stewart, and supporting lier are .players who, on the whole, make u,p an excellent company. The action is quick, and in the long succession of scenes there are few indeed that could be termed commonplace. The opening is particularly effective* There the stage manager has made the best of splendid opportunities, ivith the result that the duel between the two officers (for instance J is startling in its realism. The same deft touch is in evidence in the portrayal of the incidents that follow. The iplot is probably familiar to the average picture-goer, and need not be referred to at any length. It tells lioiv Philippa comes to figure in an affair of international importance; how she gains a lover, defeats a German plot, and learns the secret of her birth. A fair indication of the popularity of the film will probably achieve is afforded by the fact that it has been the greatest attraction of the year in the city houses throughout the Dominion.
