THE (NEW DANDIES. The appearance of Mr. Edward Branscombe'3 latest costume comedy-concert company in the Empire for a short season commencing next Thursday evening will (be received with pleasure by all who appreciate and enjoy a bright and breezy entertainment. The company are said to be equally strong in the musical and comedy' departments. Individual proficiency and general excellence in concerted work are outstanding features in the programmes given by these accomplished artists. They are a (bright and merry combination, and have been aptly called "The Sunshine Brigade." They have just completed a wonderfully successful season in Auckland, where they appeared nightly for a period of four weeks. Thleir appearance locally will Berve to prove the contention that "The New Dandies" are the smartest combination of their kind yet sent to tho ■Dominion. Excellent singing uy the vocalists, and exhilarating comedy by the comedians, together with the crispncss and brightness which characterises the company's concerted work, constitute an evening's entertainment which Is as hard to equal as it is difficult to excel. It is said that "The New Dandies" will introduce a number of new novelties, together with the latest musical accesses. >A splendid stage has been erected to accommodate "The Dandies" for the season. The plan opens at Collier's this morning.

DRIVER, THE MYSTIFIER. To-morrow evening Mr. Thosma W. Driver, the wonderful illusionist anil spirit exposer, makes his reappearance in X«w Plymouth at the Good Templar Hall. He comes well recommended, and his entertainments have excited much curiosity in scientific and spiritualistic circles. He has been known as a past master in the art of magic for very many years, during which timo he 'has travelled extensively, and he appears to possess the happy knack of keeping his audience iii roars of laughter while he bewilders them with his wonderful mysteries. As a manipulator of playing cards he is 'without an equal, and he alos ranks as the foremost exposer of sham spirit mediums, being able to perform all the best tricks and tests of the most famous spirit mediums, thus practically illustrating that no supernatural agency is required to carry them out. Referring to this part of Mr. Driver's entertainment, the Adelaide Observer said: "If any proof of the fact that a master of the art of legerdemain can far outstrip in feats of wonderment the most popular and accomplished 'spirit medium' it might well be derived from an evening with Mr. Driver, the magician. He completely exemplifies all the ■ tricks, tests, and secrets of the most famous mediums, and practically illustrates that no supernatural agency is necessary to accomplish all they ever did."
