(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewaod, July 9. There ,-was a large attendance at the meeting convened Iby his Worship the Mayor and Messrs fPercival and de Launay to discuss the question of forming a "branch of the Second Division League at Tnglewood. Messrs Clarke, Duff, and Downe, tit the New Plymouth branch, attended, and each representative addressed the meeting at length, fully explaining the planks of the League. On the motion of Mr. J. 0. Taylor it was decided to form a branch, and a committee consisting of his Worship the Mayor and Messrs de Launay, Button. iPereival, Coldwell, Surrey. Paterson, Spurdlc, and Gamlin were appointed a committee to carry out details. Despite the fact that the weather was anvthing but favorable on Thursday evening, there was a large attendance at the Red Cross social. Excellent music was supplied bv Miss Kurd (piano), and Messrs Stockman (clarionet) and Lamb (cornet), while Mr. de Launay carried out the duties cf M.C. The euchre (prizes were won by Mrs. White 'ladies') and T. Lindsay (gentlemen's). About £ll is to be added to the fund as the result of the social. The Hon. G. Fowlds is to deliver an I address in the Town Hall on Thursday next, on ''Taxation Fallacies," the proceeds to go to the Y.M.C.A.
