WAIMATE DEFEAT .HIGH SCHOOL. The match between Waimate and New Plymouth High School was played at Rslwera on Saturday before a large at*' tendance. The game was a particularly interesting one, play l>eing open, fast and clean, while the issue was uncertain right irp to the call of time, The Plains '■' hoys" were a hefty lot. proving a little too heavy for the school, who, however, made up in nippiness what they'lacked is weight! The,teams were as follow: " High School: 'Brokenahire, Yates, Bayly, Drake, Train, Callander. McKay, Terry, -Gobs, Fox. Tansey, McHardy, Revnolds, Saxton, Brvce. Waimate: O'Dowd, Rickey, McCarthy, O. Roberts, L. Hughes, M. Lynslcey, ICltaner, H. Hughes, Bowie, Bailey, Adamson, Winters, Ferguson, McLeod, Clague. In the first "spell Train scored a pretty trv for the school. Obtaining the hall from a passing "bout, he outwitted ms opponents and threaded his way through to the line. 'McKay converted. (Bailey kicked a penalty goal for Waimate. -h ; 11 ending: High School 6, Waunate the second spell, as the result of vigorous foot work and passing, *ercuson arid Roberts scored a try each for Waimate, neither of wluch was _ converted, and the game ended: Waimate 9 ( High School 3.
