TOTAL CASUALTIES. Melbourne, July 4. In appealing for recruits, Mr. Pearce Raid that the total casualties in the Australian Army were as follow: Killed, 20,100; wounded, .'«!,!) H); sick, 26,000; missing, 5208; prisoners of war, 1200; unknown casualties, ilfi. A total of 300,523 had enlisted. FEDERAL FINANCES. Melbourne, July 4. The Federal revenue for the past year was £30,504,311, compared with £30,VG2,3l<i in the previous .year. The expenditure was £35,127,727. Although the year closed with a surplus of £1,670.584, the Commonwealth has not paid its way in I«I<M7, as £3,000,000 was brought forward from the previous year. Actually the expenditure was £1,323,410 more than the revenue. The total war services cost £58,732,881, as against in the previous year. Of this £8,014,001 was paid from revenue, £39,G1?0,7G0 raised in the Commonwealth, and £11,000,000 borrowed from Britain. In addition, £20,231,115 was carried forward from the WaT Loans Fund 1!M;>-,IC, making £20,175,062 available for IWI7-1-8. A NO CONFIDENCE MOTION. Melbourne, July 4. Tho Sta.te Parliament ha 3 re-assem-bled. Mr. Emslie moved a motion of noconfldence.
