THE BABY COMPETITION.
To the Editor. Sir, —As I have ;iad no reply to my previous letter on this matter I am quite jua'.ified in assuming that, my deductions were eorrtct, and that (he "baby competition" is nothing more rr less, than a good money-making scheme engineered probably by interested shareholders in a • certain picture show, of course, i'or p.'it- > riotic purposes. If this's not so I sbitll t be pleased to be corrected. In fart, {or the sake of the clean name of patriotic things in general I sincerely hope vhat correction will be forthcoming. I no tice the local pepers are. not commenting £ on the matter, and as it is of public inJ terest this seems strange. I'm just wen--1 dering what sort of a howl there irould s be from a certain element if the boot was on the other foot.—l am, etc., QUESTIONER.
