VENIZELOS ACCLAIMED. ARMY NOW ONE. Received July 3, 8.5 p.m. Athens, July 2. _ The Peloponnesus commandant has ,irrived and interviewed M Venizelos, assuring 'him of the entire army being Received July 4. 1.30 a.m. Athens, July 3. The Greek troops to-day took the oath of allegiance to the new King. There was an imposing ceremony in the presence of M. Venizelos. Subscquentlv Requiem Mass was held in the Cathedral for the soldiers killed on the Macedonian front. M. Venizelos. returning to the hotel, was enthusiastically acclaimed. In a speech from the balcony he announced that the army had been sworn in, achieving the long desired union of the tiwo parties in Greece. . General Papoulas asked to be relieved of his command, and issued a farewell order exhorting the troops to remain fraternally united to serve their King and country. The various Allied controls, except over the telegraphic service, will cease this week. Athens, July 2. Forty army and navy officers identified with the old regime have been arrested as a preventive measure. They elected M. Zaimis and allowed Constantine and the Crown Prince to evade signing the Act of Abdication. M. Venizelos says the National Assembly will rectify the
