GOOD NEWS FOR GHEESE EXPORTERS. By Telegraph.—Prpss Association. Wellington, July 2. A cable has Ibeeu received by Mr. Thomas Gray from Mr. Rowson Hodson in London to the effect that the English courts have decided against the Government in reapect of New Zealand cheese which, arrived in London bowteen October 1, 1-91:0, and January 10 this year. This involved roughly 14,000 tons of cheese. The court decided that the Government should pay an average of 123s per owt. for the quantity seized prior to requisition at 9sd f-o.b. In the result some £21i0,000 will be paid to those interested in the cheese., consignors or buyers. SIX O"LO€K CLOSING. VIGOR BROWN'S PROPOSAL. Napier, Yesterday. Both classes must I be treated alike. The deputation, did I not view the proposal favorably. WAITOTARA'S GREW AT NOUMEA. (Auckland, Yesterday. A vessel which arrived at Auckland to-day reports that the entire crew of the Waitotara arrived at Noumea safely. There was no accident of any kind. They had been well provided with food iu the boats, and rwere picked up within twenty hours after they abandoned their ship. The fire started in one of !the holds, presumably by spontaneous combustion. The captain left the steamer in his pyjamas. The crew behaved admirably.
