IS IT FAIR?

To tlie Editor. Sir, —A week or so ago I was. lam sorrv to say, made fun of Jiv my colleagues on the ITarbor Board because I wanted (lie interned Germans in New Zealand to do work for their keep. This rooming I wish to [point out that a German called Carl Ritz. now deceased, left his land, money and chattels proved at £?784 and which, perhaps, will realise £BOOO to the Evangelical Lutheran Concordia Conference of Xew Zealand. This Carl Ritz lived at Awatuna for inflnr vears, and now deceased lias bequeathed all his assets to the German chur:h. His trustee is Herr Hannich Halting Rudolph Dierks. of Halcombe. This is, I suppose, the German minister who has been teaching his Sunday school pupils in German. My Awatuna friends say this minister has taken possession of the land.—l am, etc., , DAN J. HUGHES.
