TROUBLE IN THE CABINET.

LEADERS PREOCCUPIED WITH WAR PROBLEMS. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, Juno 20. Some of the political gossips are insisting that trouble is about to develop in the Cabinet, now that the two party leaders are home again and in a position to reassert the discipline that obviously has been lacking for some time past. The retirement of one of the Liberal Ministers is mentioned as a probability. Gossip often has a foundation in fact, but prophecy regarding political developments at present is rash. Mr. Masscy and Sir Jospch Ward reached Wellington on Monday and if there is one thing about their attitude and their words that is likely to impress everyibody who meets them, ib is their concentration of attention on war problems. Tliev are fresh from a land where the war is taken very seriously indeed, and they will, not easily be induced to give any attention at all to mere personal aiid party quarrels. Some of the proposals that they have brought with them, for the strengthening of Now Zealand's participation in the war, may serve to distract the politicians from minor issues.
