HOLLAND.

BREACH OF FAITH. GRAVE POLITICAL SITUATION. Received June 25, 10 p.m. Times Service. Amsterdam, June 24. The populace at Rotterdam seized and distributed lighters of potatoes consigned to the British Government, tluiß creating a grave political situation. Under the Dutch-British agreement Holland was allowed to export fifty per cent, of her potato crop equally to Britain and Germany. As Holland owed Britain 11,. 000 tons on the 1918 agreement. Britain insisted on receiving that quantity from the 1917 crop before any were exported to Germany. The British authorities at The Hague ascertained that Holland was preparing to export the potatoes to Germany, and warned the authorities that grave consequences might ensue, involving the fate of the Dutch nhips in Allied harbors. Britain now insists that the seized tubers must be replaced and the agreement scrupulously observed.
