Sydney, June 20, Underwriters have issued the new war rates as follow: —Steamers for the United Kingdom via Suez, the Cape ahA Panama, 10 per cent; United States, Canada, and East Coast via Suez, 10 per cent; per West Coast, 4 per cent; Cape 5 por cent.; sailers for United Kingdom, 93 per cent; America, Canada and East Coast, 15 per cent; West Coast 5 per cent. IMPORTED TEA. Melbourne, June 20. A proclamation prohibits the importation of tea other than that grown in British possessions, without the Minister's consent. The action is in the interests of growers in India and Ceylon, where large stocks have accumulated owing to the freight shortage.
