THE WHEAT PURCHASE.
FIRST SHIPMENT PLACED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Agriculture informed a reporter to-day that the whole of tho first shipment of wheat from Australia (atout 54,000 sacks) had boon satisfac-. torily disposed of to millers in the South I Island, and arrangements had been made for a further shipment to Auckland. Ow-, ing to the system of shipment at Sydney being unsatisfactory iu the first instance, it was proposed that Mr. J. R. Hart, of the Board of Trade should go to Aub : tralia to arrange for a better method of loading and grading for the next ship. meM
