ITALY.

A HEIGHT STORMED. | AUSTRIANS PUT TO FLIGHT. A .MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE. United Service, Received June 18, 8.35 p.m. London, June 18. . Mr. 1 Hamilton Fyfe, telegraphing from the Italian front, says the Alpinists stormed Corriokavento, a height of 10,'000 feet, by overcoming the enormous difficulties. Wearing ski, they approached the forts, which were built of solid ice, sometimes eighteen feet thick, such fantastic conditions being common hereabouts. The Italians, dressed from head to foot in white, made a vigoroUs attack, which resulted in a complete victory. Tlio surprised Austrians fled downhill, leaving their guns, ammunition and stores. This small operation was skilfully placed and executed, the loss being small. It gives the Italians an overlooking position.
