AXNIiSTY FOR REBELS, 70 CREATE ATMOSPHERE OF GOODWILL. Australian Cablo Association! London, June 17. In the House of Commons, Mr. Bonar Law said the Government lmd, after long and careful consideration, decided on an amnesty. The governing consideration wns the approaching convention, wherein it was hoped Irishmen "would settle the difficult problem of the future administration of their country. This great experiment marked a new era in the relations between Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Empire. It was very desirable the Convention should assemble in an atmosphere of goodwill, and the Government had therefore decided to remove one cause of serious misunderstanding, inspired by the sanguine hope that its action would be welcomed in the spirit wherein it was made, and constitute a good augury for the muchdesired reconciliation. Mr. Delvin expressed "his gratitude, but considered the Government jrould have been better advised if it had como to the decision earlier, The Government would even have avoided much Irritation. Mr. Samuel said the Government had taken a wise decision, which would l>e regarded as an earnest of the Government's desire to end a long period of quarrel between two peoples. Mr. Wardle hoped the past would be forgotten. REBELS RELEASED. London, June 17. The 29 Irsihmen have been released irom Lewes Gaol. Cheering crowds' witnessed their departure for Ireland^
