CHILDREN'S DAY.

r THE WINTER SHOW. Yesterday wus Children's Day at the Show. Unfortunately, the weather &efc in very wet about mid-day, and there were a large number of disappointed children. Despite this, however, there was a very good attendance at the hall during the day, and the majority oi the stall-holders report good business. In the evening, when the Citlzenß' Band, under the baton of Mr. F. W. G. McLeod, again rendered another of their delightful programmes, there was a good attendance. To-day will conclude the Show, and there is certain to be a crowd present, especially in the evening, when the Citizens' Band will again submit a musical programme. There will the usual sale of goods at the conclusion of the show. The Judging was completed yesterday, with the following Result*:— CHILDREN'S PETS, BIRDS. Johhson 3.' Female: Mrs. E. G. Johnson 1, Mrs. Roch 2. Neuter: Mrs. Roch 1. Kitten: Mrs.Roch 1, 0. W. Lovell (Westown)'2 and 3. -THE ACREAGE COMPETITION. In Sutton's swede acreage competition, which was won by Mr. Evan Jones, of Toko, the conditions were that the seed had to be procured from Webster Bros., Sutton's Taranaki agents. The Society's maugold acreage competition competition was won by Mr, P. Godinagli (Brixton) with Sutton's Prize-Winner Yellow Globe and Long Red.
