DISCHARGED FROM CAMP.
GOVERNMENT PARSIMONY. ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Sir Jas. Allen states that the Government has decided that* men discharged from camp because of physical defects which did not arise in camp, and were i not aggravated by service in camp, ar* to be given four weeks leave on pay. They will thus be put on the same footing as a returned soldier, who invariably receives one week's sick and threo weeks' privilege leave on pay before discharge. Separation allowance will also be paid for four weeks after discharge. The Government has also agreed to the 'proposal that this payment should ,ho retrospective, to include all those who havp been discharged since January, 1817, but these payments will be made' on written application only, as it is impossible for the Defence authorities to trace all the men concerned at this date. i
