NEW PLYMOUTH PIERROTS.

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the general committee of the New Plymouth Pierrots was held last night, Mr. H. Brookman presiding. , The executive committee recommended that three members of the committee be appointed a special committee to wait 011 bankers, lawyers, doctors and people of independent means, for the purpose of soliciting their support,—The suggestion was adopted, and Messrs H. Brookman, J. R. Hill and R. Cock were appointed. It was decided, on the motion of Mr. P, J. Flannagan, that lists of all completed orders be sent into the general secretary on or before .Tune 23. The chairman stated tliat Mr. Flannagan had arranged to have Allen's shop cleaned up, Mr. Morey had offered the upstairs portion of his premises to bo used as a depot store, and Mr, F. J. Robertson, agefit of the Wizard Light Company, had undertaken to light up Jones' stable to be used as a paddy's market. Votes of thanks were passed to the gentlemen named, and Mr. Robertson was elected a member of the general committee. The chairman also stated that Mr. A. G. Mowat, on behalf of Chambers Bros., had promised to give five fat ewes, which he would guarantee would be worth 32s fid each—Mr. Mowat was thanked. A resolution was passed empowering the treasurer (Mr. J. H. Fowler) to officially open an account at the Bank of New Zealand, and Messrs Brookman and Fowler were authorised to sign cheques and other documents in connection with the finances. Mr. Flannagan said Mr. Connell had asked him to apologise for his non-at-tendance, and to suggest that th» mart should be opened as a butcher's shop on Friday night. Mr. Connell had added that he would close his shop on the Satnrday at noon, and &Bk the other butchers to do the same.-—Approved. Mr. L. Smith said the bandmaster of the Citizens' Band (Mr. F. W. G. MeLeod) had suggested that the Borough Council should bo asked to close Brougham street or Currie street from Powderhanr street to Devon street for the Pierrots' concert.—Left in the hands of Mr. J. McLeod and R. H. George (secretary), with power to act. The secretary announced that Mr. J. E, | Nixon was painting a special picture, to be raffled in connection with the demonstration. It was decided the fish, meat, poultry and produce comnrttee should meet on Saturday afternoon to transact important business. The general committee then adjourned till Tuesday evening next, when a full attendance is requested.
