Myers, acting-Minister of Finance, has furnished particulars relating to revenue and- expenditure for the month/ of May. Commenting on the figures, the Minister sajd the total revenue for the first tw month's of the current financial year was greater by £93,220 than the revenue for 'the corresponding months of last year. The increase was due principally to the in-come-tax. As was to be expected, there had been a falling-off of both cusjtoms and railway revenue. The expenditure for the two months shpws an increase of £287Ji22 on the corresponding, period of •■ftst year. This was partly due to the additional pension's payable,, also to the Jact that the aunking fund naturally grow heavier year by year ajs the new loan* are raised. A good deal of the increase, however, was explained by the fact that several departments' expenditure had Seen brought to charge more promptly than in former years, and to this extent the increase in the outgoings will adjust itself,
