The awards will be presented during the week. The electrical department of the Wellington City Council has imported a lifesaving device called a lung motor machine, for pumping oxygen into the lungs of anyone suffering from suspended animation through an electric shock. Experts itate that death is not always instantaneous as the result of shock, and that the early ues of this machine may save the life of anyone unfortunate enough to come into contact with a live wire.

The Pacific Cable Board nnnounces that, in addition to posting the original received copy of all week-end telegrams for the United Kingdom from Montreal, a duplicate of each mesage is posted one week later. As no information regarding the forwarding of mails has been disclosed by the post offtco, no guarantee can be given that both copies will not travel by the same steamer.
