WEATHER FORECAST.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Bates reports: A westerly disturbance passed, over the south during Saturday night, and an intense cyclone is now located in the north. Stormy weather has been experienced in most parts, with general rains and snow on the high levels. Strong northerly winds ruled on Saturday, and still prevail in the far north, but southerly gales have predominated since Sunday. Presen indications are for cold and boisterous conditions, with south-easter-ly winds strong to heavy gale in parts, rain probable generally, and heavy rain, with flooded rivers, over the North Island, and in the north-east part, of the south, with snow in the high country of the South Island. The barometer is unsteady in the south, but will rise fast soon in the northern districts.
