i Washington, June 0. The State Department is officially advised that an American armed merchantman sunk a submarine They fought for ninety minutes. The twentyfifth shot pierced the submarine, and her stern rose out of the water; then she Bank. The Navy Department is convinced that the submarine has been bagged. The submarine flew no flag.
