FIGHT WITH DESTROYERS. BRITISH FLOTILLA DOES GOOD WORK. London, June S. An Admiralty statement ■ states that the Vice-Artmiral in charge of the Dover patrol reports: Early this morning we heavily 'bombarded teh naval base and workshops at Ostcnd, firing a large number of rounds with good results. The shore batteries returned our fire, but : our bombarding forces suffered no dam- i age. ( Admiral Tyrwhitt also reported that early this morning light cruisers and destroyers under his command sighted six German destroyers, and engaged them i at long range in a running fight. Gun fire sank German destroyer S2O, and | severely damaged another. We picked , up seven survivors of S2O. We had no j casualties. . BRITISH GET EARLY TO WORK ■ ( GERMANS RUSH TO MINE-FIELDS. ' i Received June 6, 8 p.m. London, June 6. Admiral Tyrwhittt sighted the* enemy . at dawn five miles away. The British fleet, comprising cruisers and destroyers, divided into two lines. The destroyers ' opened the engagement immediately, ' damaging the S2O, which in a few minutes'began to sink, a destroyer res- ; cuing seven of the crew. The chase ' lasted until the Germans reached their mine-fields. ZEEBRUGCE IN RUINS. A FORMH>ABLE BOMBARDMENT. Received June 6, 8.15 p.m. London, June 5. The Exchange Telegraph's correspondent at Flushing states that the naval bombardment was of the most formidable description, and continued for a hundred minutes. A large fleet and heavy artillery participated. Explosions and fires followed. The German batteries vigorously replied. A flotilla of German torpedoers were anchored in Zeenrugge harbor, which suffered severely. According to a German deserter, Zeebrugge is in ruins. AUSTRIAN TORPEDO-BOAT SUNK. Received June 6, 7 p.m. London, June 6. Austrian official: On the night of the 3rd and 4th of June an enemy submarine torpedoed and sank one of our torpedo boats in the northern Adriatic. The majority of the crew were rescued.
