"THE WORLD AND THE WOMAN." A young woman alone in the city is the central figure of "The World and the Woman," the Gold Rooster play screen- | ing at The Empire to-night and to-mor-row. . The play opens in New York with vivid presentations of the hectic lifo Indulged in by the fast and furious reveller? in the rilght cafea. The heroine, weary of .her life, 'becomes a maid at a country house, and there works out her salvation. Jeanne Eagels is a splendid heroine and is ably supported by Boyd Marshall. The 9tory is the old one of the pretty girl who falls into the clutches of a licentious man, but it is given bright and fresh treatment. The photographic detail in many of the sceneß is particularly good, and tlio out-door scenes are no less than, wonderful. The supporting pictures include "Waterfalls in Bohemia," "Carrara Marble Industry," and : an amusing Vitagraph comedy, "Loot and Love."
