As the result of an explosion and fire on tljie Te Anau, which was in the stream early this morning, three seamen were admitted to the hospital, one seriously and two badly burned. There was no structural damago to the ship. ANOTHER PEA. RIFLE FATALITY. Gishorne, May 28.. Ralph Hale, aged 14, was fatally shot with a pea rifle at Mangakuna, Tolaga Bay. He had handed the rifle to a Native boy, who, thinking it was not loaded, aimed it at him and shot him through the head. At the inquest the verdict was death bv misadventure.
