MK. McDONALD'S RETURN, By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Hon. W. D. S. Macdonald has returned to Wellington He says rrangements were made with tho Commonwealth Government for the purchase oi a million bushels, and its shipment to New Zealand. The Commonwealth has a large surplus of wheat, and is finding a difficulty in protecting it from the weather and other deteriorating causes. While he Was at Sydney he saw the New Zealand boys at the Liverpool camp, and he also i saw them march through George stioet when they received a splendid reception, military men and other responsible persons being loud in their praises of the discipline and good conduct of the New Zealand troops. He was frequently questioned regarding this Military Service Acf in New Zealand, and was able to sljow that it was working smoothly, and had the general approval of the majority of our people.
