m . CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph.—Presß Association. Hastings, May 20. At the adjourned inquest on Rupert Maney, newspaper runner, Mr. S. t. McCarthy, coroner, found that deceased, on the afternoon of May 23, was killed through being run over by a motor «ar being driven by Whalngaroa WMhuiat that the said Whalngaroa Wirihana wa» negligent in such driving in that he failed to sound his horn, other traffic then being in the immediate vicinity; j that he failed to keep a reasonable look- < out for such other traffic; and that he was driving at an excessive rate of speed. I fiirther find, said the Coroner, that negligence was the immediate cause of deceased's death. Wirihana was arrested and charged with manslaughter. He was remanded on bail of self £IOO and two sureties of £6O eaeh.
