■52 MEN'S VOICES. . The newly-formed male choir had a verv successful" and interesting rehearsal on 'Wednesday evening. There were *> men present and 7 new active members were "enrolled. The music, which was donated by a "Well-wisher," was gone through and proved to be of nign quality; a better choice of opening numbers could not have been selected. The new music from Auckland is to hand,,so the Society has plenty of work in front of it. ' To make the practices of a more m-, teresting and social nature it has been decided to have one or two or ladings during each evening, and this shoitid prove very beneficial to those who only'for want of a little confidence would (make good soloists. At Wednesday's practice Mr. S. a. Dnnstan, who has a rich baritone voice, sang, "The Sword of Fcrara" in good stvle He was accompanied by Mr. Arnold Sturroek. The fatter gentleman is a visitor from 1 the south, and purposes settling in New Plymouth in the course of a few weeks, and with his ability will be a great acquisition to musical circles in the town. Any persons wishing to become honorary members of the society are requested to toward their names to the secretary, Mr. H. B. Macdonald.
