REINFORCEMENTS FOR THE FRONT, CONSCRIPTION PROPOSALS. Received May 20, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa, May 19. Sir Robert Borden (Piemier), speaking in the House of Commons, announce*! that a selective draft will be adopted for Canada to provide !iO,OOO to 100,000 men for the front to reinforce divisions lit ■the front. IMPERIAL CONFERENCE DECISION. OPPOSITION CO-OPERATION PROMISED. Received May 20, 5.5 p.m. Ottawa* May 19. Sir Robert Borden reported the results of the Imperial Conference, and said that as a result of the decisions of the conference regarding India, the Gov- > inment had decided that the regulations as to the immigration of Indians iu'o Canada should be placed un the same basis as the Indian regulations on Canadians. He asked Sir Wilfred Laurie? to accompany him to (Lonclcn as Canada's second representative at the post-war conference. Sir Wilfred Laurier promised that the Opposition would give the same consideration to the Government's inscription proposals as they had givm other war measures, and agreed that Canada should do its utmost till victory is gained.
