MASONIC INSTALLATION.

MOUNT EGMONT LODGE. There was a large gathering of Free Masons at the Good Templar Hall last night on the occasion of tie installation of Bro. H. Viotor S. Griffiths as Worshipful Master of the Mount Egmont Lodge No. 6170, English (Constitution, which was established in 1853. The gathering was a very representative one. Apologies were received for the absence of Grand Lodge officers and other distinguished brethren. The De Burgh Adams, Ngamotu, Sir Donald McLean, and Stratford lodges were represented, and members were present fvom all the lodges in Taranaki, as well as from the other provincial districts. W.M. Bro. P. J. 11. White occupied the chair, and received the visitors. The beautiful ceremony was ably performed by W.M. Bro. W. M. Perry) P.D.CLO., who installed Bro. H. Victor S. Griffiths, the Worshipful Master elect, into the Chair of King Solomon, according to the ancient custom. W.M. Bro. H. J. M. Wells acted as master of ceremonies, whilst the musical portion of the ceremony was in the hands of Bro. W. Hoskin (pianist) and Bro. F. W. G. McLeod (trumpeter). The The W.M. invested his officers for the ensuing year as follows: i.lm. Past Master, Wor. Bro. H. J. M. Wells; S.W., Bro. E. H. Carter; J.W., Bro. H. V. S. Griffiths; treasurer, Wor. Bro. E. Chatterton; secretary, Wor. Bro. Fred C. J. Bellringer; D.C.,Wor. Bro. 11. J. M. Wells; organist, Wor. Bro. W. M. Perry; S.D., Bro. IC. B. Bain; J.D., Bro. S. T. Joll; 1.G., Bro. R. L. Parkin; Chaplain, Bro. D. Ritchie; S.S., Bro. W. E. Keating; J.S's., Bros. S. A. H. Robb, W. R. Home, A. G. Mason; Tyler, Wor. Bro. J. Asher.

At the conclusion of the ceremony a ( n adjournment was made to the Forresters.' Hall, Gill Street, where Bro. Wooller hod; prepared an excellent repast.
