SALE OF THOROUGHBREDS.

The New Zealand Loan and. Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held their annual sale of thoroughbred horses yesterday at Hawera. There was a large attendance of the public, and most of the lots submitted were disposed of at the following figures:— On behalf of the estato of the late Mr. Daniel Hughes:— Bav mare, Polycaste, aged, by Nestor, "dam Nightingale.—A. McCracken, 13 guineas. Brown mare, Minosa, aged, by Maniapoto, dam Osmania.—L, Goodger, 1 guinea. Bay mare, Floss, aged, by St. Clements, dam Konini.—W. L. Jamieson, 5 guineas. Brown gelding, aged, by Coronet, dam Secrecy.—D. Brookes, 1J guineas. Bay mare, 5 years, by Cheshire, dam Secrecy.—D. J. Hughes, 34 guineas. Bay mare, aged, by Coronet, idatn Turkish Maid—S. Langford, 12 guineas.

Brown filly, 3 vears, by Husbandman, dam Turkish Maid—P. Knight, 20 gns.

Brown fllly, 3 years, by Sylvia Park, dam Minosa—W. Harper, 6 guineas. Bay filly, 1 year, by Foremost, dam Polyc'aste.—Hikaka, 18 guineas. Bay colt, 1 year, by Foremost, daw Polycaste.—W."Harper, 15J guineas. The black gelding Crawford, put up by Mr. H. J. Eaves, Otakeho, was passed in at 110 guineas. The bay mare Munition, by Sylvia Park, dam Tottie (full sister to Volume), all engagements, owned by Mr. J. Currin, was sold to IX T. Bennett (Patep.) for 50 guineas.—Stir.
