•The Bev. John Paterson has been elected moderator of tlio State general assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Australia (soiys a message from Sydney). Mr. A. E. Jiill was yesterday' unanimously re-elected chairman of the Napier Harbor Board. Nelson papers record iJie death of Mr. W. C, Harley, eighty-two years of age, who had been closely identified with »\eiBon, for a great number of years, but for Borne considerable time had not been engaged in active business. Until recently, however, he was a familiar figure in and about the city. The late Mr. Harley leaves a widow and a son and daughter, Captain Carol Harley, who is at present home on sick leave from the front, and Miss G. Harley, of Nelson. The other ion, the late Captain H. S. Harley, was killed in action in Franco some months Hgo.
