(From Our Own Correspondent). Inglewood, May S. This afternoon a deputation from Stratford, consisting of Mesdames Budge and Stronaeh, visited Inglewood with a view to assisting in the formation of a Plunket Society. The Mayoress (Mrs. Young) occupied the eha'r and there was a good representation of local ladies present. It was decided tli .1 Stratford and Inglewood should amalgamate and support a Plunket Nurse. A committee was elected to put the decision into effect, consisting of the president, the Mayoress; vice-presidents, Mesdames F. Brown ann Thos. Drake; secretary, Mrs. J. Sutherland; treasurer, Mrs. flow; committee, Mesdames. Evans, Armstrong, Nutting, Spurdlc, Pyne, liodgos and Kennedy. Considering the inclement state of the weather tbere was a good attendance at the patriotic dance on Friday night. On this occasion the ladies decided to hand the proceeds over to the Y.M.C.A. Atusual, euchre was played in the supper room until 10 o'clock, anl the successful players were; Ladies, Mrs. Looncy; gentlemen, M. Heatley. Dr. De Lauiiay carried out the duties of m.c. in a most callable manner and excellent music was provided by Miss Card and Messrs. Stockman and Lamb. The Y.M.C.A. bene (it to tlio ej-'tent of about £ll as the result •«f the effort.
On Thursday tlio local "Rifle Club journey to Tariki to try conclusions with tlio latter club. The 'following will represent Inglewood: Vive President Spurdl', Riflemen Marsh, Martin, Hall, Robinson, ■Grossman, Clark, G. Hall and Frewin.
