| WORKMEN'S COUNCIL DEMANDS. Petrograd, May 7. The Workmen's Council urges that an Arbitration Court should be established, the armies diminished, and that institutions should he eet up to protect the naI tion against the menace of Imperialism. THE EXTREMISTS SWAMPED. Petrograd, May 7. There is a marked improvement in the situation, as the anti-Government intrigues have compelled the sober majority of the inhabitants to proclaim their view. Huge gatherings of Government supporters of all classes proclaimed their adherence to the Provisional Government, swamping the anti-Government demonstrations organised by the extreme Socialists -who had been dominating the situation by their terroristic bluff. ENEMY DRIVEN BACK. Received May S, 7.30 p.m. London, May 7. A Russian communique states:—'Near Vladimir Volynsk, south of Zubilnon, an enemy comnany strongly attacked, but was driven back. On the Kabaraveezboruff front there is an intense enemy bombardment.
